Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the West India territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving ambitious monthly and yearly targets for order booking, sales revenue, and payment collection. This role demands a proactive approach to promote new products, engage in application-based selling, manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to order conversion, and foster strong customer relationships. You will also play a key role in coaching and developing the West India sales team and driving regional marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Sales & Revenue Targets: Achieve aggressive monthly and yearly order booking, sales revenue, and payment collection budgets for the assigned West India territory.
- Product Promotion & Application Selling: Proactively promote new products and drive application-based selling by deeply understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Lead Generation & Opportunity Management: Generate high-quality leads, diligently manage the sales pipeline, and keep opportunities and activities consistently updated in the CRM tool.
- Techno-Commercial Proposals: Prepare comprehensive techno-commercial proposals for opportunities, including the effective utilization of battery sizing tools where applicable.
- Negotiation & Order Conversion: Lead negotiations with customers to convert proposals into confirmed orders, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
- Customer Relationship Management: Retain and grow the existing customer base while actively identifying and acquiring new customers within the territory.
- Contract & Documentation Management: Prepare detailed contract reviews and ensure timely submission of drawing documentation for approval and manufacturing clearance.
- Market Engagement & Specification Changes: Conduct in-house seminars and webinars to engage with customers, drive specification changes that favor our products, and secure incremental business.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Propose the yearly sales budget for the West India region, create accurate monthly sales forecasts, and develop monthly payment collection plans.
- Reporting & Market Intelligence: Provide comprehensive monthly activity reports, gather and report on competitor information, and analyze market trends to inform strategy.
- Service Business Development: Drive service business growth by securing service contracts for maintenance, battery health checks, and installation & commissioning services.
- Team Leadership & Development: Coach and mentor the West India sales team to achieve their individual and collective goals and objectives. Provide regular performance feedback, understand their needs, and effectively communicate these to management.
- Marketing Initiatives: Initiate and execute marketing campaigns within the assigned territory, including participation in trade shows, memberships in local industrial organizations, social media promotion, and the publication of case studies and white papers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Senior Sales professional, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets in a B2B environment.
- Extensive experience in managing a sales territory, preferably in West India.
- Demonstrated ability to promote new products and engage in application selling.
- Proficiency in lead generation, pipeline management, and CRM tool usage.
- Experience in preparing techno-commercial proposals and leading negotiations.
- Strong capabilities in customer retention and new customer acquisition.
- Ability to prepare sales budgets, forecasts, and collection plans.
- Excellent understanding of market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Experience in developing service contracts and growing service business.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing a sales team.
- Strong presentation skills for conducting seminars and webinars.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.-
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with battery products or similar technical industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in using battery sizing tools.
- Active participation in industrial organizations and trade shows.
- Experience with social media promotion and content creation for sales.
