Software Development Engineer - Test - Automation Testing (4-6 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks using Selenium and Java.

- Evaluate and select appropriate automation tools and technologies.

- Implement best practices for test automation, including code reusability, maintainability, and efficiency.

- Create comprehensive automation test plans based on project requirements and specifications.

- Define test scope, objectives, and timelines.

- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure testability.

- Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.

- Utilize Rest Assured for API testing of microservices.

- Analyze test results, identify defects, and provide detailed reports.

- Debug and troubleshoot automation issues.

- Design and implement test cases and test data to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

- Execute test suites and manage test environments.

- Develop and execute automated tests for microservices using Rest Assured.

- Validate API functionality, performance, and security.

- Ensure extensive unit test coverage by working closely with developers.

- Contribute to the development of unit tests where necessary.

- Interpret business requirements and technical specifications to develop effective test cases.

- Investigate and analyze software defects to identify root causes.

- Work with developers to resolve identified issues.

- Test COTS applications to ensure they meet requirements.

- System Testing (ST), System Testing +1 (ST+1), and System Integration Testing (SIT):

- Perform system testing, system testing +1, and system integration testing to ensure the overall quality of the integrated systems.

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

- Ensure automated tests are executed as part of the build and deployment process.

- Maintain clear and concise documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.

- Generate regular reports on test progress and defect status. -

Required Skills and Experience :

- 4+ years of experience in software test automation.

- Strong proficiency in Java and Selenium.

- Experience with Rest Assured for API testing.

- Solid understanding of automation framework design and implementation.

- Experience with microservices architecture and testing.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools.

- Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with COTS application testing.

- Experience with ST, ST+1, and SIT.

- Experience with unit testing.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with other automation tools and frameworks.

- Knowledge of performance testing and security testing. -

- Experience with cloud-based testing environments.

- Experience with Agile methodologies.
