Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy solutions using Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge, and Device Provisioning Service (DPS) Implement and manage secure data pipelines from field sensors/PLCs to Azure cloud Develop and deploy custom edge modules using Python, Node.js, or C# for local processing and device communication Integrate with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, or similar Ensure secure transmission of telemetry using SAS tokens or X.509 certificates Configure message routing, device twins, and cloud-to-device messaging Collaborate with AI, frontend, and control systems teams for end-to-end IoT workflows Support real-time stream analytics, data storage, and troubleshooting Set up monitoring and diagnostics for edge devices and IoT pipelines using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and CLI tools Must-Have Technical Skills Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge Runtime, Device Provisioning Service (DPS) Protocols: MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS, and Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC-UA Edge module development in Python, Node.js, or C# Device authentication using SAS tokens or X.509 certificates Hands-on with Azure CLI, IoT Explorer, and Azure Portal Stream processing using Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, or Event Hub Basic data handling in Azure Data Lake or Blob Storage Nice-to-Have Skills CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Security tools like Azure Defender for IoT Microsoft Certification: AZ-220: Azure IoT Developer Specialty Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Good written and verbal communication Team player who collaborates well across domains (AI, frontend, control systems) Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced development environment
