Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager Finance to lead our finance function. The ideal candidate is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a proven track record of over 15+ years in finance leadership roles, preferably in startup, manufacturing, or real estate environments. The GM Finance will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, compliance, taxation, and audit (internal and third-party).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Drive strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business growth.
Financial Operations
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, treasury, cash flow management, payables/receivables, and general ledger management.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with statutory and internal requirements.
Audit & Compliance
- Lead internal audit activities and coordinate third-party audits to ensure robust internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory laws and regulations, including GST, TDS, income tax, and company law.
- Establish and maintain internal control systems, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, legal counsel, and tax authorities.
- Present financial insights to the board, investors, and senior management.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
- Promote a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounts.
- Prior experience working in startups, manufacturing, or real estate is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, MIS reporting, taxation, compliance, and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated experience in handling internal and third-party audits.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience setting up financial processes and systems in a high-growth or early-stage organization.
- Knowledge of company secretarial functions, legal, or regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Exposure to fundraising, investor relations, or M&A transactions is an advantage.
