Objective:
- The Technology & Innovation Head is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a portfolio of software and hardware based pharmaceutical inspection solutions to customers as primary delivery owner
- The role is responsible for creating the functional articulation and blueprint for product & product enhancements through new technology identification
- The role will also build the functionality to move to a SaaS based offering
- Contributes to the business strategy planning and ensures technological growth keeping with and ahead of competition, including identification of advanced technologies and new markets
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic and planning:
- Establish the technology development vision for the Organization and contribute to the business strategy through ideating potential product and service offerings
- Plan the budget, investment and the target areas / portfolio of planned projects for short term as well as long term development along with moving to newer verticals/technology
- Liaise with Product managers, Sales and Marketing Teams, BU Heads and CEO to make a project pipeline with timelines and new product turnaround time
- Support preparation of business case for research in new technologies
Functional:
Operations Management:
- Conduct research to understand the application of new technology in existing products aligned to the customer needs as well as Organizational strategy
- Collaborate with the product management heads and the BU Heads to identify areas for the development of new feature / products through SaaS offerings to keep the products competitive in the market
- Follow the stage gate approach to develop products and maintain all documentation and generated IP in a systematic manner
- Identify the difference between delivery projects (customer fulfilment) and development projects and undertake projects that would add competitive edge to the organization
- Ensure monitoring of resource utilization and adherence to the project management practices
Internal process:
- Constantly monitor, measure and report performance of development progress on the projects undertaken
- Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis
- Provide technical expertise around Track and Trace and Visions & Inspection technology. Review and approve standard operating process for operationalizing new products along with the Engineering services, product architect and Quality teams
- Support Quality and Regulatory affairs to identify risks in development cycle
- Support BD and KAM sales head to interact with customer R&D departments and collaborate to develop solution to address customer needs
People development:
- Identify, hire and groom top technology talent from the market to undertake development activities
- Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
- Mentor, coach and develop technology as well as soft skills in the department. Provide subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities
- Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
