Application/Production Support Engineer - DevOps (4-7 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking four highly skilled and experienced Specialists to join our Application/Production Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production systems, resolving incidents, and implementing proactive measures to maintain high availability and performance. You will work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment, collaborating with development, DBA, and DevOps teams to address production issues and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

- Provide 24/7 production support in a rotational shift environment.

- Monitor system health, identify potential issues, and take proactive measures to prevent incidents.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.

- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Collaborate with development teams to deploy new releases and patches, ensuring smooth transitions to production.

- Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, ensuring efficient and reliable deployments.

- Work with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure.

- Administer and support MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases, including incident resolution, performance tuning, and backups.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts (preferably in Shell/Bash) for routine tasks such as backups, monitoring, and patching.

- Work with Azure Cloud / Azure DevOps for deployments, monitoring, and infrastructure management.

- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools like Nagios, Splunk, or Prometheus.

- Document support activities, create incident reports, and develop knowledge base articles.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Work closely with development, DBA, and DevOps teams to resolve complex production issues.

- Ensure adherence to ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.

Must-Have Skills :

- Production Support Experience : At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in operations support or system administration.

- Rotational Shift Experience : Ability to provide 24/5 production support in a rotational shift environment.

- Troubleshooting Skills : Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.

- DevOps Tools : Hands-on experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

- Linux/Unix : Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Scripting : Hands-on experience in any scripting language, preferably Shell / Bash Scripting.

- CI/CD Pipelines : Ability to manage CI/CD pipelines and implement automation for build and deployment processes.

- Azure Cloud / Azure DevOps : Working Experience with Azure Cloud / Azure DevOps.

- Automation : Experience in creating and maintaining automation scripts for routine tasks (e.g., backups, monitoring, patching).

- Database Administration : Practical knowledge of administering and supporting MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases.

- Incident Management : Experience in resolving database-related incidents and performing backups.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Ability to work closely with development, DBA, and DevOps teams to resolve production issues.

- Documentation : Ability to document support activities, prepare reports, and create knowledge base articles.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Networking : Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and load balancing to support production applications.

- Programming Languages : Proficiency in Java / JavaScript, Python.

- Monitoring Tools : Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, or Prometheus.
