Database Administrator - NoSQL (4-6 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design and architecture of NoSQL database solutions, with a primary focus on Cassandra.

- Build and validate NoSQL database solutions in a lab environment, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness requirements.

- Manage the complete project lifecycle for NoSQL database deployments, from initial design to successful live implementation.

- Provide comprehensive DBA support for NoSQL database systems, particularly Cassandra and MongoDB.

- Configure and maintain enterprise-level monitoring solutions for NoSQL databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.

- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for Cassandra and MongoDB environments.

- Configure and manage alerting systems for critical NoSQL database events and potential issues.

- Implement and enforce security compliance solutions for NoSQL databases, adhering to industry best practices and organizational policies.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Cassandra and MongoDB performance, availability, and data integrity.

- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for NoSQL database systems.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell Scripting and Python for routine DBA tasks.

- Collaborate effectively with development teams to understand their NoSQL database requirements and provide expert guidance.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest NoSQL database technologies, trends, and best practices.

- Participate in on-call rotation as needed to provide support for critical database systems.

Required Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a NoSQL DBA.

- Strong expertise in building and managing NoSQL databases, with a primary focus on Cassandra.

- Proven experience in building and managing MongoDB.

- Solid understanding of NoSQL database concepts, architecture, and best practices.

- Experience in configuring and utilizing enterprise monitoring tools for NoSQL databases (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

- Proven ability to design and implement backup and recovery strategies for Cassandra and MongoDB.

- Experience in setting up and managing alerting systems for NoSQL databases.

- Knowledge of security best practices for NoSQL databases and experience in implementing security compliance solutions.

- Proficient in Shell Scripting and Python for automation and administrative tasks.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in NoSQL database environments.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with other NoSQL databases (e.g., Couchbase, Redis).

- Knowledge of data modeling principles for NoSQL databases.

- Experience with NoSQL database administration in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible or Chef.

- Relevant certifications in Cassandra or MongoDB administration.
