This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the worlds largest integrated energy and commodity trading firms. We are looking for a hands-on technologist with experience in risk development projects and exposure to the commodities trading industry. You will work closely with trading and risk teams to develop innovative solutions, leveraging your expertise in market data, risk modeling, and pricing analytics. A strong background in Java-based enterprise solutions and a deep passion for technology-driven problem-solving are essential.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Risk Technology, you will play a key role in designing and delivering a greenfield risk platform as part of a multi-year strategic program. Working closely with the team lead, you will ensure that solutions adhere to enterprise-wide architecture principles and align with best engineering practices.

Key responsibilities :

- Hands-on development, contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance risk

technology solutions.

- Collaborate with business users to understand trading and risk processes, capturing and translating requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Drive innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements.

- Develop deep expertise in commodities trading, risk management, and pricing analytics to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

- Foster strong collaboration across teams, ensuring seamless integration of technology, data and business workflows.

Technical expertise :

- Proven experience in developing enterprise-grade applications, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Strong proficiency in Java, including multithreading, concurrency, and low-latency development.

- Background in commodities trading or financial services, with an understanding of the trade lifecycle and risk management.

- Strong risk domain knowledge, including forward curves, volatility surfaces, pricing models, and risk metrics.

- Expertise in service-oriented architectures and modern technologies such as REST, JSON, Protobuf, Spring Boot, and Dropwizard.

- Experience in DevOps and CI/CD best practices, with hands-on knowledge of tools like JIRA, JUnit, GitLab, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, Kibana, and Prometheus.

- Cloud computing experience (AWS or Azure), with an understanding of how cloud services integrate into a hybrid onpremises/cloud environment.

- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

- Experience with modern web development frameworks such as React.js is a plus.
