Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented MEP Costing Resource to manage the cost estimation and financial aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in commercial turnkey projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing budgets, and ensuring cost efficiency in line with industry standards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP works including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope documents to assess material and labor costs.
• Conduct market research and engage with vendors/subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with design intent.
• Maintain and update databases of material costs, labor rates, and supplier information.
• Prepare tender documents, cost reports, and budget forecasts.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Review and validate subcontractor quotations to ensure accuracy and cost effectiveness.
• Monitor project expenses and assist in budget control measures throughout execution.
• Assist in financial planning and risk assessment for MEP projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 + years of experience in Costing in Commercial projects. Candidate from Building material industry / EPC Project sector only.

Key Competencies:

• Proven experience in MEP costing, estimation, or quantity surveying in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation, rate analysis, and costing methodologies.
• Proficiency in costing software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or estimating tools).
• Ability to analyze tender drawings, technical specifications, and contractual documents.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and cost analysis techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of local and international costing standards and construction best practices.
