You will leverage your deep understanding of data management domains, including data quality, data cataloging, data security, and data masking, to enable effective data governance. Your expertise will be crucial in defining and implementing data governance policies and guidelines, designing efficient processes, elevating data literacy, fostering data trust, enhancing data accessibility, and shaping a future-ready data operating model.

Responsibilities :

- Provide visionary thought leadership, establish robust frameworks, define industry best practices, and offer expert subject matter expertise specifically focused on Collibra and Azure Purview to guide the delivery of impactful Data Governance and Management solutions for our clients.

- Lead the end-to-end implementation and meticulous tailoring of the Collibra Data Governance Center and/or Azure Purview platform to precisely align with intricate and evolving business requirements.

- Expertly configure and manage critical platform components, including workflows for data governance processes, the definition and enforcement of data governance rules, and the establishment of data quality standards within the chosen platform.

- Architect and implement seamless integration capabilities between the Collibra/Azure Purview platform and a diverse range of data sources and systems, spanning both traditional on-premises infrastructure and modern cloud environments.

- Strategically develop and meticulously configure the Collibra Data Governance Center (DGC) meta-model, encompassing the definition and management of data assets, their intricate relationships, organizational domains, and collaborative communities.

- Design, develop, and deploy comprehensive and scalable solutions for critical data management functions, including metadata management, end-to-end data lineage tracing, and the enforcement of robust data governance controls.

- Collaborate effectively with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key project stakeholders to meticulously elicit, clearly define, and thoroughly document crucial data governance, metadata, and data quality requirements.

- Formulate a comprehensive and strategic roadmap for the successful implementation and ongoing management of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.

- Conduct thorough and insightful enterprise-wide data governance maturity assessments, meticulously defining the current state of data governance practices, envisioning the desired future state, and outlining an aspirational target state with actionable recommendations for improvement.

- Demonstrate proficiency in independently conducting focused pilot projects within stringent timelines to effectively showcase the value proposition and practical perspectives of proposed data governance solutions.

- Proactively stay informed about the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in the realm of data governance tools and methodologies, continuously enhancing expertise in Collibra and Azure Purview.

Technical Skills :

Data Governance Platforms :

- Deep hands-on expertise in either Collibra Data Governance Center (including configuration, workflow design, meta-model development, data quality rules setup, and integration capabilities) OR Microsoft Azure Purview (including data catalog, data lineage, data estate insights, and security and compliance features). Experience with both is highly advantageous.

- Understanding of the architecture and functionalities of Collibra and/or Azure Purview.

Data Integration Technologies :

- Experience with various data integration tools and methodologies (e.g., ETL/ELT processes, API integrations).

- Familiarity with connecting to diverse data sources, including relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases, data lakes (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, AWS S3), and cloud-based applications.

Metadata Management :

- Strong understanding of metadata management principles and best practices.

- Ability to design and implement metadata models and taxonomies.

Data Quality :

- Knowledge of data quality concepts, methodologies, and tools.

- Experience in defining and implementing data quality rules and monitoring processes within Collibra/Purview or integrated tools.

Data Lineage :

- Proven ability to implement and interpret data lineage within Collibra/Purview to understand data flow and transformations.

Security and Compliance :

- Understanding of data security principles, data masking techniques, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

- Familiarity with implementing security and access controls within data governance platforms.

Cloud Technologies (if applicable) :

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP) and their data services.

- Understanding of cloud-based data governance considerations.

Scripting and Querying (preferred) :

- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data manipulation.

- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data.

API Integration :

- Experience with RESTful APIs and other integration methods for connecting Collibra/Purview with external systems.

Requirements :

- Possess a minimum of six (6) years of progressive professional experience in the data management domain, with a specific focus on data governance.

- Demonstrate a minimum of four (4) years of demonstrable hands-on experience in the successful implementation and configuration of data governance tools.

- Must possess prior, hands-on implementation experience with either Collibra Data Governance Center or Microsoft Azure Purview. Candidates with experience in both platforms are highly preferred.
