Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Test Engineer with hands-on experience in writing Gherkin-based test cases for web applications. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and automation testers to ensure test scenarios are clear, complete, and BDD-aligned. Your Gherkin scripts will serve as the backbone for the automated test suites implemented using Selenium-Cucumber.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and functional specs to derive meaningful test cases
• Write BDD scenarios using Gherkin language (Given-When-Then format)
• Review and validate Gherkin steps implemented by automation team
• Perform manual execution of functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing
• Identify defects, log them in tools like JIRA, and track them to closure
• Collaborate with developers and QA automation team for test handoffs
• Participate in test case reviews and refinement sessions with cross-functional teams
• Ensure test coverage across multiple browsers and responsive views
• Support UAT by providing business-readable test documentation.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in manual testing of web-based applications
• Strong understanding of Gherkin syntax and behavior - driven development (BDD) concepts
• Experience working with test management tools (e.g., Zephyr, Xray)
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps)
• Good understanding of functional, regression, and integration testing
• Ability to articulate scenarios in Given-When-Then format with clarity
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice to Have

• Basic understanding of Selenium-Cucumber test automation workflow
• Experience in CI/CD environments
• Knowledge of Postman or API testing tools
• Awareness of accessibility and cross-browser testing best practices
