Project Manager/Engineering Lead - Automation Testing (3-5 yrs)

About the Role :

As a Test Automation Project Manager & Engineering Lead at HeadSpin, you will be responsible for providing world-class automation testing project management on innovative and leading-edge projects, while also leading engineering roadmap planning, resource allocation, and task management within an Agile framework.

You will provide thought leadership and implement robust test management frameworks and methodology. Working directly with customers, you will be the subject matter expert on application performance management and HeadSpin. Furthermore, you will champion Agile methodologies (including Scrum) across departments like Engineering, Operations, Professional Services, DevOps, AWS, and Service Assurance.

If you have 5+ years experience in automation testing solutions involving mobile, mobile web browsers, and browsers, and proven experience in engineering leadership, we would like to hear from you.

What You'll Do :

- Test Automation Project Management : Lead the end-to-end management of automation test script development and test execution, demonstrating HeadSpins ability to meet and exceed customer requirements, often in the customers production environment.

- Engineering Roadmap & Planning : Work closely with Product Management and Software Engineering to manage delivery of the engineering roadmap for product feature initiatives, aligning with overall company objectives and product strategy.
This includes defining and managing project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

- Resource Allocation & Task Management : Effectively allocate resources (personnel, tools, budget) to delivery and development projects and manage tasks within an Agile/Scrum framework. This includes prioritizing tasks, tracking progress, and removing roadblocks. Note, the split between delivery and development projects is likely to be 50/50.

- Agile/Scrum Leadership : Champion and implement Agile/Scrum methodologies across relevant departments (Engineering, Operations, Professional Services, DevOps, AWS, Service Assurance), facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Customer Interaction & Advocacy : Work closely with our sales and services team to identify upsell opportunities and renewal risks and be engaged with cross-functional teams to manage and resolve issues affecting your customers successfully. Work with customers to ensure onboarding, user adoption, retention, and overall success. Function as the voice of the customer and provide internal feedback on how HeadSpin can better serve our customers.

- Technical Leadership & Mentorship : Impart technical leadership and direction on HeadSpins products and services.
Mentor and guide team members in best practices for test automation and Agile development.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work directly with our Product Management, Engineering, Marketing teams and Leadership to share your knowledge and experiences to improve our business and our customers success ultimately. Ensure any project issues are resolved quickly, utilizing resources from across Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, etc.

- Continuous Improvement : Maintain and gain knowledge of the languages and technologies supported by HeadSpin. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in test automation and Agile development.

What You Need :

- 5+ years experience within the industry.

- Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams, including roadmap planning, resource allocation, and task management and management reporting.

- Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Certification as a Scrum Master or Product Owner is a plus.

- Experience and competence working at OS command lines including Unix, Linux, and Windows.

- Experience with open-source testing and Automation frameworks (Appium, Selenium, XCUiTest, Espresso/UI Automator, etc.) and methodology and principles of test automation is a plus.

- Good understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment(CD) tools and processes.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Ambitious and self-motivated with a high emotional IQ.

- Ability to work on multiple POCs and post-deployment customer account management concurrently.

- Highly coachable with a strong desire to improve and grow as a professional.

- Strong ability to align technical concepts and features to business needs.

- Software development lifecycle knowledge.
