Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of samples.
- Handle and transport specimens following infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide support to patients by explaining procedures and alleviating anxieties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
- Follow guidelines for biomedical waste disposal and infection prevention (PPE).
- Record and maintain accurate patient information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or manual logs.
- Assist laboratory staff with specimen processing if required.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and request replenishments as needed.
Preferred candidate profile
- Friendly, calm, and empathetic with patients.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
