SQL Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SQL DBA/Developer to design, develop, and maintain databases that support our business operations and data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL development skills, experience with database optimization, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain relational database systems based on business requirements.
• Create efficient, scalable, and optimized database structures, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and implement effective solutions.

2. SQL Query Optimization & Performance Tuning

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency.
• Conduct query performance analysis using execution plans and indexing strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in database queries and stored procedures.

3. ETL Development & Data Integration

• Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data integration from various sources.
• Develop data pipelines to automate the movement and transformation of data across systems.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple environments.

4. Database Administration & Security

• Monitor database health, performance, and storage to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement security best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Backup, restore, and ensure disaster recovery strategies are in place.

5. Reporting & Analytics Support

• Develop and maintain SQL-based reports to support business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and data extracts for business teams.
• Assist in data visualization and dashboard development.

6. Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data needs are met.
• Document database structures, stored procedures, and data flows to maintain a clear understanding of data processes.
• Provide support for data-related issues and troubleshooting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL programming, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as:
• Microsoft SQL Server
• MySQL
• PostgreSQL
• Oracle
• Solid understanding of database normalization, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica) for data extraction and transformation.
• Knowledge of data modelling concepts and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Proficiency in working with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.

• Certifications such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate

• 4+ years of work experience with SQL
• MCSE: Data Platform or MCSA on 2012/4/6
• MCSE: Data Management & Analytics
