Jindal Power - Head - Land Acquisition (20-25 yrs)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead and manage all aspects of land acquisition and related statutory processes for our large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. The Head Land Acquisition will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of land acquisition under various frameworks including LARR Act, CBA (Coal Bearing Areas Act), Forest Land Diversion, and Private Land Purchase. The role also includes maintaining updated land records and extending support in Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end land acquisition processes for large-scale industrial and mining projects.

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including LARR Act, CBA Act, Forest Conservation Act, and guidelines for Private Land Purchase.

- Liaise with government authorities, district administration, legal consultants, and community representatives to facilitate smooth acquisition and clearances.

- Manage Forest Land Diversion proposals, including preparation, submission, and follow-up with MoEF&CC and state forest departments.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date land records, including title verification, mutation, demarcation, and digital mapping.

- Ensure timely clearances for land-related matters essential for project development.

- Lead and support in the planning and execution of Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) programs, in line with applicable laws and company policies.

- Monitor legal proceedings related to land disputes and support the legal team in resolution efforts.

- Build and lead a team of professionals and field staff for land coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments, landowners, and local communities.

- Prepare periodic MIS reports on land status, acquisition progress, compliance, and risks.

Key Requirements:

- 20+ years of experience in land acquisition and management, preferably in sectors like mining, power, infrastructure, or large industrial projects.

- Proven experience in handling land acquisition under LARR, CBA, Forest Land Diversion, and Private Land Purchase frameworks.

- Strong knowledge of land laws, legal documentation, revenue procedures, and statutory compliance processes.

- Experience in handling R&R processes in coordination with state authorities and affected communities.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
