Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled General Music Teacher to provide high-quality music education across grade levels. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, musical skills, and an appreciation for music through engaging lessons, performances, and co-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach general music to students across primary and/or middle school levels
- Plan and deliver lessons covering vocal music, rhythm, instruments, and basic theory
- Introduce students to various music styles, traditions, and cultures
- Organize and prepare students for assemblies, concerts, and special events
- Foster creativity, expression, and a lifelong appreciation for music
- Use varied teaching methods to engage students with different learning styles
- Maintain classroom instruments and manage music resources
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues for cross-disciplinary activities and performances
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
- bachelors or masters degree in Music, Music Education, or related field
- Recognized teaching certification (B.Ed., Diploma in Music Education, etc)
- Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting
- Proficiency in vocal music and/or at least one musical instrument
Skills and Attributes:
- Passion for music and teaching young learners
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire creativity and self-expression in students
- Familiarity with school performance planning and music curriculum design
- Collaborative, enthusiastic, and adaptable to a dynamic school environment
