QA/QC Engineer - Civil

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage quality assurance and control procedures for all civil engineering activities on the hydropower plant project.
• Develop and implement QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and checklists for construction activities, including earthworks, foundation works, concrete works, and structural works.
• Review project specifications, technical documents, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure that construction activities are being executed according to established standards.
• Supervise and conduct inspections for materials, equipment, and construction activities, including but not limited to concrete mix, reinforcing steel, formworks, and structural steel.
• Implement and supervise non-destructive testing (NDT) and other quality testing procedures for materials and construction works.
• Document inspection and test results, prepare reports, and ensure proper record-keeping for all QA/QC activities.
• Ensure that all civil construction works meet the specifications and the required standards.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that civil construction work is being carried out as per the approved quality standards.
• Participate in weekly or monthly project meetings to report on QA/QC performance and any quality-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with the project management team and contractors to resolve any quality concerns or discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain all QA/QC documentation, including inspection and test reports, quality records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Review and track any non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that all quality-related documents are properly archived for future reference and audits.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during civil works on the site.
• Monitor and ensure that all construction works adhere to safety protocols and that workers are following safe working practices.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of quality management systems, processes, and procedures.
• Provide training and support to site personnel to increase awareness and understanding of quality standards and procedures.

• Education: B.E/ B.Tech- Civil Engineering
• Experience: 8-14 years in quality assurance and quality control in large-scale civil engineering projects, with a preference for experience in hydropower or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction standards, codes, and specifications, particularly for hydropower plants.
• Familiarity with testing methods and procedures for concrete, soil, structural steel, and other construction materials.
• Proficient in using QA/QC tools, inspection software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications (such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or equivalent) are an advantage.
