Senior Database Administrator - SQL Server (5-12 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced and certified Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server database management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments

- Ensure database availability, security, and performance by monitoring system resources and tuning configurations

- Implement and manage HA/DR solutions using Always On Availability Groups, Replication, and Clustering

- Create and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and automation scripts

- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to design, review, and implement database changes

- Perform root cause analysis and resolve database-related incidents in a timely manner

- Document architecture, procedures, and best practices for operational excellence

- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support as needed

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server (2016 and above)

- Expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization

- Practical experience with Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, and backup strategies

- Proficiency in PowerShell or scripting for automation

- Working knowledge of cloud-based databases (Azure SQL) is a plus

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

- Must hold a valid and current Microsoft SQL Server certification (e.g., DP-300,MCSA,MCSE)
