Rakuten - Product Manager - Data Platform (3-7 yrs)

Role :

- Collaborate with senior PMs to define, prioritize, and scope product features aligned with customer needs

- Write user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams

- Work closely with cross functional teams and customers to understand data quality, reliability, and observability pain points, drive seamless, end-to-end product execution

- Assist in roadmap planning, backlog grooming, and sprint planning processes

- Suggest product enhancements that improve user experience and address usability or functionality gaps

- Analyze product usage data and perform deep-dives to inform product decisions

- Monitor product launches and capture user reactions and feedback post-release

- Perform quality assurance controls in collaboration with QA and engineering teams

- Work with/in the CSM team to create support, onboarding, and training documentation for both internal teams and external users

- Contribute to user testing, release notes, and go-to-market enablement

- Stay current with trends in modern data stacks, observability tools, AI/ML infrastructure, and governance best practices, create detailed competitive analysis

Preferences :

- Experience in B2B SaaS or data platform startups or data analytics products

- Exposure to observability tools, monitoring platforms (e.g.,Monte Carlo, Datadog)

- Basic understanding of statistics or machine learning concepts

- Is able to query data using SQL or explore notebooks or has basics of python

- experience in product, data analytics, or engineering roles

- Familiarity with modern data stacks: SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, DBT, Airflow, etc.

- Exposure to data quality issues, data lineage, and ETL/ELT pipelines

- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

- Analytical mindset - able to interpret metrics and derive product implications
