RoadMap - Chartered Accountant - Financial Reporting (3-5 yrs)

1) Job Purpose: To be arrived at as a summation, during the course of the interview - and validated by the respondent (role holder/manager/direct report)

- Responsible and co-ordinate with Team for timely delivery of Financials reporting requirements, Finance and Treasury related works, Co-ordinate with Auditors, Analysis of overheads for cost reduction initiatives. To Act as a second line executive for Department Head.

2) Job Context & Major Challenges

Context:

- TANFAC is in growth path since FY'16 both in terms of turnover and bottom line. Over the last 2 years with the expansion of HF and other major capex projects, level of operations have doubled. With many investments planned during next 3 to 5 years as part of our growth plans for next 3 to 5 years, level of operations are bound to increase further.

- Timely finalization of financials and various reports is one of the very vital business processes in term of regulatory compliances and aiding business decision making. Key for many other business processes and sub processes.

- Incumbent also needs to analyze costs, contributions and other key value drivers and aid day to day business decision making.

- Job calls for regulatory and statutory compliances, aiding business decision making and also liaising with external agencies like statutory / internal auditors, banks, vendors and customers.

Challenges:

- Job requires continuous and seamless co-ordination with internal and external chains to ensure timely delivery financial statements.

- Job requires continuous updation of regulatory announcements, circulars, etc., to ensure statutory compliance of Direct Tax, SEBI, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, ICAI Accounting Standards etc.,

- Job calls for analysis of costs including overheads and aid management for cost reduction initiatives.

- Job also involves managing Finance Department in the absence of Department Head.

3) Principal Accountabilities

Accountability Supporting Actions

- Review Monthly Financial Reports - Review Financial Statements with all Schedules / Notes, cut off procedures and provision for expenses, get & / compile reports from various plants & departments.

- Monitoring of General Ledger - Scrutinize ledger accounts, track various internal reports and ensure reconciliations for all requisite GL codes

- Co-ordinate for completion of audits - To co-ordinate with DH - Accounts and ensure timely completion of statutory audit, limited review, tax audit and cost audit. To ensure completion of audit without any major non conformance

- Statutory Compliances - Ensure compliances on all Direct taxes and validation of all returns submitted. Also aid DH & FH in terms of Income Tax Appeals, Assessments, etc.,

- Ensure compliance with prevalent mandatory Accounting Standards & Corporate Policies.

Direct Taxation - Helps Function Head / Department Head in tax planning and proper estimation of advance tax.

- Ensure completion of tax audit under section 44 AB of I.T Act

- Helps Function Head in handling appeals, IT assessment including co-ordination with tax consultants (appointed on case to case basis)

Capex Review - Review and monitor capex spend and send periodical reports to DH & FH. Will perform the controlling function of capex management and will work in co-ordination with DH - Accounts. Will also check the depreciation accounting and classification of assets & split up between capital and revenue expenditure.

4) Job Purpose of Direct Reports

- FLO - Banking - Responsible for maintenance of accounts relating to banking activities and company supported Trusts

- FLO- Chennai Office Responsible for liasioning with bankers and other Chennai office related works
