Operation Theatre Technician CTVS

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment in accordance with OT protocols.
  
• Scrub in and assist the CTVS surgeon during all cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.
  
• Arrange surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment required for CTVS procedures.
  
• Perform proper instrument counts before, during, and after surgery with the circulating nurse.
  
• Ensure that all instruments, drapes, sutures, and implants specific to cardiac surgeries are available and sterilized.
  
• Handle specialized equipment like heart-lung machines (if trained), grafts, cannulas, and bypass sets.
  
• Assist in the positioning and preparation of the patient for surgery.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and instrument usage.
  
• Follow infection control protocols strictly.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology / B.Sc. in OT Technology or equivalent.
  
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, especially in cardiac OT.
