Role & responsibilities

Position Description Role The Sourcing lead is responsible for procuring materials & services required for the BU's in an effective and efficient manner. This includes managing vendor management, follow up, planning, purchase status to ensure timely delivery in a cost effective manner. Level of Supervision Team of about 3 members Internal Relationships Engineering & Development Interactions on understanding the purchase requirements for existing products, new product development, etc. from a technical standpoint Planning Interactions on material planning, status of delivery of materials / products to stores / warehouse Quality Interactions on quality of incoming materials, rejections, etc Production Interactions on materials requirements for production, resolution of related issues. Finance Interactions on LC and other requirements for imports, clarifying / following up on vendor's bills, ensuring timely payment to vendors. External Relationships Statutory / Regulatory Authorities, Agents & Consultants Interactions on import related procedures, licences, customs clearances, etc Vendors (materials) Interactions on quality / quantity of materials supplied, delivery status, providing feedback / training to vendors as required. Vendors (Others) Interactions on services such as logistics / freight forwarding, third-party warehouses, etc
