Blue Yonder - Senior Software Engineer - Java/Python (5-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Seeking an astute individual who has a strong technical foundation with the ability to be hands-on with the broader engineering team as part of the development/deployment cycle, and knowledge of industry best practices, with the ability to implement them, working with both the platform and the product teams.

Responsibilities :

- Core responsibilities include coding and building a scalable SaaS platform for the customers.

- Develop quality software (including effective unit test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.

- Participates in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Translates business requirements to user stories and actively seeks feedback from the stakeholders.

- Takes the lead in designing individual stories and translates the design to subtasks.

- Considers aspects of information security while coding and reviewing others' code.

- Keeps up to date with technology and research latest trends in the industry.

- Is perceived as the expert in a small designated technical area and is the go-to person for related implementational and operational issues.

- Design, architect, implement, and document next-generation system architecture and automation solutions.

- Evaluate and coach other engineers on the technical and interpersonal best practices.

- Provide support/guidance for day-to-day operations/systems.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Software development.

- Strong programming skills and background in Java, Spring Boot, Python, and Bash.

- Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise applications.

- Hands-On experience and Proficiency in below Technical skills : Java, Spring Boot, Python, Web Technologies (HTML, XML, JSON), Object Oriented Design (OOD), Linux/Unix, and Windows Platform.

- Excellent team player and works with a go-getter attitude.

- Experienced Agilist.

- Should have good communication skills and effectively work with stakeholders and the team as well.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Current technical environment :

- Software/Tools : Java, Python, Groovy, GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, Checkmarx, GitHub Advanced Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.

- Application Architecture : Scalable, Resilient, event-driven, secure, multi-tenant Microservices architecture.

- Cloud Architecture : MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD).

- Frameworks/Others : Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake.

Must have :

- GitHub, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps domain knowledge.

- Intermediate understanding of virtualization, private, hybrid, and public cloud computing concepts.

- Intermediate understanding in key areas such as Cloud Services such including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, on major cloud hosting platforms (Azure).
