Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer - Power Converter Hardware Design

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop power converter hardware and circuit architectures for industrial, healthcare, aerospace, and defence applications
  
• Select appropriate topologies and components for power conversion solutions
  
• Prepare schematics and provide PCB design guidance
  
• Perform low and high power board bring-up and functional testing
  
• Utilize schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Xpedition, Allegro, Orcad, and PADS
  
• Design and evaluate magnetics and construction methods for power electronics
  
• Conduct pre-compliance and compliance testing, ensuring product meets standards
  
• Prepare design documentation including loss calculations, test plans, derating, FMEA, reliability analysis, and MTBF studies
  
• Use hardware tools like power analyzers, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and function generators for testing and validation
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to design for excellence practices including DFT, DFM, and DFA
  
• Maintain excellent communication with stakeholders and document all processes effectively

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-10 years of experience in power electronics hardware design
  
• Hands-on experience with power converter topologies and design methodologies
  
• Expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Xpedition, Allegro, Orcad, PADS)
  
• Knowledge of magnetics design and compliance testing procedures
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  
• Familiarity with design documentation and reliability analysis
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Experience in high power design and testing is an advantage
