• Course Instruction:Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops in the areas of history and political science
• Design syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment methods that align with departmental and institutional learning objectives
• Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of historical and political concepts among students
• Mentoring and Advising:Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, assisting them in academic and career-related matters
• Offer support and encouragement to students seeking to deepen their understanding of historical and political theories
• Research and Scholarship:Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the academic discourse in history and political science
• Publish research findings in reputable journals, present at conferences, and participate in departmental research initiatives
• Collaboration:Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum, instructional methods, and departmental activities
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other collaborative efforts
• Engagement with Students:Foster a positive learning environment by promoting open discussions, debates, and respectful exchanges of ideas
• Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, such as academic clubs, seminars, and workshops
• Professional Development:Stay current with developments in the field of history and political science through ongoing research, reading, and attending conferences
• Administrative Duties:Assist in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation processes as required by the department
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress

Qualifications:

• A PhD in History, Political Science, or a related field
• A Master's degree with significant teaching and professional experience may also be considered
• Demonstrated expertise in specific historical periods, political theories, or interdisciplinary topics
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Prior teaching experience, preferably at the university level
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment
• Ability to engage and inspire students through dynamic teaching methods
• Active participation in scholarly research and a record of publications
