Connected Vehicle Architect (10-12 yrs)

The Connected Vehicle Architect will play a critical role in designing, developing, and leading the architecture for the next generation of connected vehicle systems at Royal Enfield. This role requires working closely with cross-functional IT, engineering, and digital teams to integrate digital technologies into connected and electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in microservices, cloud platforms, IoT, and vehicle architecture, and will ensure that the solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities :

Architectural Design & Leadership :

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of connected vehicle architectures, ensuring seamless integration with existing vehicle platforms.

- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and digital teams to define and implement the connected vehicle ecosystem that aligns with Royal Enfield's product strategy.

- Provide leadership in creating scalable and flexible architecture models that can support both current and future connected and electric vehicle solutions.

Technical Requirements & Solution Development :

- Define technical and testing requirements for connected vehicle systems, ensuring that all components of the solution are robust and meet business needs.

- Work on the design and development of cloud-based and edge computing solutions that support connected vehicle functionality, ensuring data security, reliability, and performance.

- Develop, implement, and maintain scalable microservices-based solutions that are compatible with the connected vehicle ecosystem.

Integration with Enterprise Architecture :

- Ensure that all connected vehicle solutions are aligned with Royal Enfield's enterprise architecture and strategic goals.

- Collaborate with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that digital solutions are integrated into the overall IT landscape, facilitating smooth interoperability with existing systems.

- Work closely with the electric vehicle team to integrate digital and connected features into electric vehicle platforms, ensuring consistency and performance.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Serve as the key technical advisor on connected vehicle solutions, working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of connected features.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, software development, product management, and IT infrastructure teams, to deliver connected vehicle projects on time and within scope.

- Manage technical risks associated with connected vehicle deployments, identifying potential challenges early and proactively addressing them.

Testing, Scalability, & Performance Optimization :

- Define testing strategies and quality assurance processes to ensure that connected vehicle systems perform as expected under various conditions.

- Monitor the scalability and performance of connected vehicle systems, recommending optimizations and enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience.

- Ensure continuous monitoring of connected vehicle systems in production, providing ongoing support and implementing necessary updates and improvements.

Innovation & Technology Leadership :

- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, especially in the fields of IoT, connected vehicles, and electric vehicles.

- Lead efforts to implement innovative solutions, including the use of IoT platforms, cloud services, and data analytics to create smarter and more efficient vehicle systems.

- Advocate for customer-centric approaches in connected vehicle designs, ensuring that the user experience is prioritized and optimized.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Educational Background :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MCA, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Professional Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in software development and solution architecture, with at least 2-3 years of specific experience in electric or connected vehicle technologies.

- Proven track record in architecting and deploying microservices-based solutions in production environments.

Technical Proficiency :

- Strong expertise in Java, Node.js, React.js, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, with experience in designing and deploying scalable cloud solutions.

- Knowledge of IoT protocols, especially MQTT, and experience working with vehicle communication architectures.

- Familiarity with electric vehicle platforms, telematics, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication technologies.
