Tejas Networks - Senior/Lead Engineer (8-10 yrs)

Role Description :

This is a critical full-time, on-site role for a TAC - Senior/Lead Engineer at Tejas Networks in Bengaluru. As a Senior/Lead Engineer, you will be a technical leader within the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), providing expert-level support to our customers and internal teams on Tejas Networks' advanced telecommunications and networking solutions. You will be responsible for complex network troubleshooting, problem resolution, and proactive support, leveraging your deep expertise in network administration, network engineering, and key routing protocols.

Key Responsibilities :

- Expert-Level Technical Support : Provide advanced technical assistance to customers and internal stakeholders, diagnosing and resolving intricate network issues related to Tejas Networks' product portfolio.

- Advanced Network Troubleshooting : Lead complex network troubleshooting efforts, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

- Network Administration and Engineering : Apply your extensive knowledge of network administration and engineering principles to analyze customer network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

- Routing Protocol Expertise : Utilize your in-depth knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE, OSPF, and IS-IS, to troubleshoot routing-related issues and optimize network performance.

- Escalation Management : Manage and resolve escalated technical issues, collaborating with R&D, product management, and other internal teams to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

- Knowledge Sharing and Documentation : Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and best practices.

- Customer Communication : Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear and concise updates, explanations, and solutions to complex technical problems.

- Team Collaboration : Collaborate with other TAC engineers, field support, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve support processes.

- Mentorship and Training : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior TAC engineers.

- Proactive Problem Management : Identify recurring issues and trends, and work with relevant teams to implement proactive measures to prevent future problems.

Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience :

- 8+ years of experience in a TAC or similar role within the telecommunications/networking industry.

- Strong network administration and network engineering skills.

- Proven technical support and troubleshooting capabilities.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE, OSPF, IS-IS.

- Hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches).

Preferred Skills/Experience :

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.

- Experience with network management systems.

- Knowledge of other networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP).

- Experience with packet capture and analysis tools.

- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl).
