Okay, this might sound a bit surprising, but hear me out.

My cousin runs a small momos stall inside a mall in Noida  and he told me he’s earning around 1.5 lakh profit per month. 
But he’s not even satisfied with that. He feels his competitors are doing better, and he’s falling behind.

Then recently, a colleague also said that earning 1–1.5L/month is pretty normal these days and that ₹5 lakh/month is the new big milestone people aim for.

And here I am, just trying to wrap my head around this shift.
On one side we hear about unemployment and job cuts, and on the other side, some folks feel 1.5L isn’t enough anymore. 

Is this really becoming the new normal?
Or are we just caught in this endless loop of comparing and chasing more?

Is 1–1.5 lakh per month really that common now?
