My only good takeaway from the company would be the Delhi branch head who was handling my segment and a few friends I made. Got to learn a lot from him.

During my interview process I was told it would be more like consultative selling however later it became just like any other hard core sales with no understanding of target audience (government in my case). Now Sales profile however tedious comes with perks of good salary and incentives. CMIE is not a good paymaster, salary is low and the incentive scheme is designed in such a way that you'll generally miss target</mark>. They hire people on probation and even take years to make them permanent. Also, they are no holiday on festivals!!! There are just 3 or 4 holidays/day offs in a calendar year! Yes I went to office on Holi and Dussehra!! Just to be fair my colleagues came on Eid too!! Work wise it seems interesting at first but then it gets mundane as there is literally nothing to learn, especially if you have been a good student and have an understanding of Macro economics you'll find the MD's view is being inflicted on you. Finally the company is pretty adamant about being the only data provider in the country and puts a blind eye to its growing competition. Working in CMIE, the most thing I like that it i the great place to learn.

Working in CMIE, the most thing i disliked that the HEAD office will not listen to your problem. Salary is too low. The one who is doing each and every thing is not getting enough salary to survive, and the one who is doing nothing is getting a good salary package.

Good work environment and culture. Teammates are supportive and the management is transparent. There is a huge cafeteria and gaming arcade for chilling. Company policies are good, appraisals are fair and they give good salary hike and bonus every year.

Dislikes

There is a lot of politics and the management doesn’t address our issues. Salary is decent but career growth is slow. There is a bond of 2 years before which you cannot resign. On the job training is not given to new joinees.

The job is quite interesting! I struggled a bit in the beginning as there was no formal training session. I learnt everything on the job. I got a chance to wear multiple hats and that helped me get a taste of different roles within the same team.

1. No HR. The CEO's and your team head's personal view about a person and their mood decides who will be retained and who will be thrown out. 2. No job security. Whether 10, or 7 or 3 years you will be thrown out with lame reasons anytime. 3. No meaningful work. Profile name analyst. Actual work of customer service. 4. No skill acquisition or learning. You work (on paper) as financial analyst but you do not learn any financial analyst skills or work in that capacity. No excel skills, no analysis skills. Go and acquire these skills on your own accord. 5. No hike<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">. Technically as the work does not warrant any huge salary</mark>. But even 4-5 years you will be at the same position as you were when confirmed. 6. No cafeteria, no public holidays except for on independence, Republic Day and Diwali.
