I joined Zepto in July 2024 as a Quality Team Lead. Initially, we were provided with only 10 days of training, which felt insufficient for the responsibilities that followed. Despite being designated as a Quality Analyst Team lead, we were quickly asked to handle a high volume of live chats — 520 in total — which seemed more alignedwith customer support responsibilities than quality analysis. There appeared to be a lack of structured management and communication. Often, we were asked to switch between working from home and reporting to the office at very short notice, sometimes even on the same day. This unpredictability and lack of clear guidelines made it difficult to plan work effectively and maintain consistency in performance. Additionally, the role expectations were blurred. Even while performing Quality Analyst duties, we were intermittently pulled into chat handling without clear boundaries or scheduling, further adding to the confusion and stress. Over time, I found very little to appreciate about working at Zepto. The role demanded a six-day work week, but even the off days weren’t consistent or fairly managed. For instance, if an off day fell on a Monday, it was often shifted or denied altogether. As a result, the next off would only come the following Friday or Saturday, leading to long, uninterrupted stretches of work. Work hours were frequently extended beyond the expected shift, with little regard for employee well-being. At this stage in my career, such prolonged and unstructured work hours were both physically and mentally taxing. The situation was further compounded during the probation period. Management, despite being aware that many of us were new and still learning the ropes, issued notices without ensuring clarity or adequate support<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">. It was evident that even the management team lacked a proper understanding of the processes and systems in place</mark>. Toward the end of my tenure, on my last working day, they unexpectedly asked me to extend my stay. When I requested written confirmation of this change, they refused — and instead proceeded to release me on the very same day I had already indicated as my intended departure date. High level management have no skills they have act of communication, they always involved direct lower management, for example I am reporting to “X” but every time “X” reporting manager involved and ask each every thing what is value of “X” ? The only thing good here was work from home thats it!

There are thousands of things to write about Commodum Groceries. The management here is worst! There is no chance of promotion here if you dont butter up your TLs or managers. You are not allowed to take any Sick leave here, if you video call them showing you are admitted they will still not believe it. You are forced to login and if you dont you get threat messages saying you wont get any PLs or we will have an HR discussion for the unplanned and sick leave that you took and the worst part here that the HR manager is of no use here because the decisions are taken by the manager on the behalf of HR. In short HR is only for name sake. They have a heavy chat flow with less employees which becomes difficult for the agent to handle the chats and expect them to resolve it faster. They pressurize the agent threating them to perform good which is next to impossible. The process is also worst along with the higher management and there is no one to listen to your problems....Read More
