Bounteous - Ruby on Rails Developer (5-8 yrs)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software that meets our business needs. This role requires a strong understanding of Ruby on Rails best practices, a commitment to clean code, and a passion for building innovative solutions.

Responsibilities :

Develop and Maintain Web Applications :

- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

- Implement new features and improve existing functionality.

- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Database Management :

- Design and implement database schemas using PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

- Write and optimize SQL queries.

- Manage database migrations.

API Development :

- Develop and consume RESTful APIs.

- Integrate with third-party APIs.

Testing and Debugging :

- Write and maintain unit and integration tests.

- Debug and troubleshoot software defects.

- Ensure code quality and reliability.

Collaboration and Communication :

- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers.

- Participate in Agile development processes.

- Communicate effectively with team members.

- Contribute to technical documentation.

Deployment and Infrastructure :

- Deploy applications to cloud based services like AWS, Heroku, or similar.

- Maintain and monitor application performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Proven experience in developing web applications using Ruby on Rails.

- Strong understanding of Ruby programming language and Rails framework.

- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).

- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Understanding of RESTful API design and development.

- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Capybara).

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular) .

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Heroku).

- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

- Experience with GraphQL.

- Knowledge of server administration.
