Job Description :

We are looking for a Back-End Developer with extensive experience in Ruby on Rails development to help build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about software development. This role will involve working on building and maintaining APIs, databases, and services that power Jombays cloud-based solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new features, troubleshoot, and ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities :

- Back-End Development : Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable back-end systems using Ruby on Rails. Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code for business logic and data integration. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate back-end functionalities into the user interface.

- Database Management : Manage and maintain databases like MongoDB, Postgres, or MySQL, ensuring data integrity and optimized performance. Implement appropriate data structures, queries, and optimization strategies for high-traffic applications. Utilize Redis for caching and ensuring low-latency data access for applications.

- API Development & Integration : Build and maintain RESTful APIs that serve data to the front-end applications. Ensure robust and secure integration with third-party services, following API best practices. Develop and document API endpoints for consistent data exchange between services.

- Microservices & Message Queues : Work on breaking down monolithic systems into microservices architecture to improve scalability and maintainability. Use message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka to manage communication between distributed systems and ensure data consistency.

- Cloud Application Deployment & Maintenance : Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) to deploy, maintain, and monitor applications for scalability and reliability. Ensure smooth deployment processes, from build, test, to deployment in a CI/CD pipeline. Leverage cloud infrastructure tools to scale applications and manage costs efficiently.

- Security & Compliance : Implement security best practices to safeguard application data and ensure compliance with industry standards (such as OWASP). Address and mitigate security vulnerabilities, ensuring applications are secure and user data is protected. Conduct regular security audits and code reviews to ensure the applications are secure.

- System Administration & Troubleshooting : Maintain knowledge of Linux-based systems, including file systems, firewalls, and process management. Perform system-level troubleshooting and debugging to resolve issues related to back-end services. Optimize the application and server infrastructure to improve speed, security, and scalability.

Skills & Qualifications :

- Back-End Development Expertise : Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with 3+ years of professional experience in building scalable back-end applications. Experience working with web frameworks such as ExpressJS and applying MVC design patterns for application architecture.

- Database Technologies : Proficiency in working with NoSQL (MongoDB) and SQL (Postgres, MySQL) databases. Experience with Redis for caching and optimizing application performance.

- API & Web Services : In-depth understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and principles of stateless communication. Experience integrating third-party services and managing API documentation.

- Microservices & Messaging : Familiarity with Microservices architecture and concepts like distributed systems. Basic understanding of Message Queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka for handling asynchronous processing.

- Security Best Practices : Strong knowledge of OWASP security practices and guidelines. Experience in implementing secure authentication, data encryption, and preventing security vulnerabilities.

- Cloud & Deployment Tools : Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, and tools for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications in cloud environments.

- Operating Systems & System Administration : Strong understanding of Linux OS, file systems, firewalls, and networking concepts. Experience managing and troubleshooting production servers.
