The incumbent will be leading the Technology, R&D, and Engineering divisions, with responsibilities spanning New Product Development, System Integration, Digitalization, Sheet Metal, Heavy Fabrication, Machine Shop Operations, Structured Engineering, and Design Engineering.
Education: B.E. / B.Tech. (Mechanical, Industrial or related field); MBA / M.Tech. equivalent is preferred from a reputed institute.
Experience: 18+ years of relevant experience within complex manufacturing environment, with at least 8-10 years in senior leadership positions.
- R&D Strategy Development: Develop and implement the overall R&D strategy in alignment with the company's business goals, market trends, and technological advancements. Identify opportunities for new product development, integration, improvements to existing products, and new technologies that can be incorporated into machinery solutions.
- Product Development and Integration: Oversee the design, development, testing, and commercialization of new machinery products or systems. Ensure the engineering and design of machinery products meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and quality requirements. Drive the continuous improvement of existing products, incorporating the latest technological advances and customer feedback to enhance product offerings. Identify and protect valuable intellectual property generated through R&D efforts, including patents, and trade secrets.
- Innovation & Technology Management: Encourage the use of cutting-edge technologies in the development and optimization of machinery products, including automation, robotics, and advanced materials. Collaborate with external research institutions, universities, and technology partners to bring innovative ideas into the organization.
- Project Management: Oversee R&D projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (such as production, marketing, engineering and quality control) to ensure seamless integration of R&D activities with overall business operations. Report on R&D progress, milestones, and financials to CEO
- Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure that all new machinery products comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws. Establish and maintain rigorous testing protocols and quality assurance procedures for new and existing machinery products.
- Cost Management & Budgeting: Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient use of resources for maximum impact. Implement costeffective solutions throughout the R&D process, balancing innovation and cost constraints.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and inspire a diverse team of engineers, designers, and researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Manage performance, resource allocation, and budgeting for the R&D department. Mentor and develop team members through training, coaching, and career development initiatives. Provide technical expertise to support product marketing and sales teams during product launches, presentations, and customer meetings

- Experience in working with industry standards and regulatory bodies in the machinery sector.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, AI, IoT, and other cutting-edge technologies applicable to machinery manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
