Senior SQL Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Developer to join our [e.g., data engineering, development, analytics] team.

The ideal candidate will be a master of SQL and database technologies, responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex database solutions. Key Responsibilities:

Database Design & Development:
Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and efficient database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Write complex, highly optimized SQL queries, scripts, and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) for data manipulation, integration, and reporting.
Work on database migrations, upgrades, and patching as required.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
Identify and resolve complex database performance bottlenecks by analyzing execution plans, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
Perform regular database performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
Implement and enforce best practices for SQL coding and database design to ensure optimal performance.
Data Integrity & Quality:
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all database systems.
Implement data validation rules and referential integrity constraints.
Develop and maintain data quality checks and processes.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate closely with application developers to design efficient database interactions and troubleshoot database-related application issues.
Work with data analysts and business intelligence teams to fulfill data reporting and analytical requirements.
Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior SQL developers or team members.
Documentation & Standards:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, stored procedures, and complex SQL logic.
Establish and enforce SQL coding standards and best practices within the team.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Proactively monitor database health, troubleshoot production issues, and provide timely resolution.
Assist in setting up and managing database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
