Job Description

Become part of Barclays Stress Testing and Impairments CoE . You will be part of the Investment Bank OBI team and will be responsible for Coordination, Consolidation of data and analysis related to the Planning and Stress Testing. The data is used for both, internal reporting for senior management consumption and for external disclosures.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An eye for detail: to understand the complexity of IB revenues/RWAs and question the data to understand the variances.
  • Understanding on the investment banking business and should be able to drive discussions with various stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of RWAs and KPIs.

Some other highly values skills include:

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skill.
  • Driving insights and strategies on his/her own.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based out of Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To develop and implement the banks financial plans and stress testing methodologies by assessing the banks resilience under various economic scenarios.

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of stress testing methodologies and analysis of the results to identify potential vulnerabilities, assess capital adequacy, and inform risk mitigation strategies.
  • Management of the banks financial risks, including development and implementation of risk management strategies and communication of financial risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analysis of the banks capital position and assessment of its ability to meet regulatory capital requirements, development of capital management strategies to optimise capital utilisation and evaluation of the impact of capital allocation decisions on the banks risk profile and financial performance.
  • Orchestration of process cycles for the Planning and Stress Testing FTC and project managing delivery of the Planning Process and stress tests).
  • Documentation of requirements prescribed by the Regulator, Process/Data Owner Tracking and reporting cycle progress via P&ST Steer Co, POC, Working Groups and the workflow tool. .
  • Management of data, dataflows and data quality from contributors - input through to report submission. .
  • Management of BAU systems to enable a quick outcome and iterative generation of Capital or Funding plans and separately drive process reengineering initiatives. .
  • Ownership of the controls environment, standards, conformance, partnering with BIA to ensure the FTC meets its controls and governance objectives. .
  • Provision of ongoing governance support including but not limited to Regulatory liaison, Group & BBUK Board engagement, Group Attestation & KPMG engagement.

  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
