Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in the construction, testing, and commissioning of 220 kV substations . The role involves managing and executing all technical aspects of substation projects from site mobilization to final handover, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and execute the complete electrical scope of 220 kV substation projects, including AIS/GIS switchyards, power transformers, CT/PT, breakers, isolators, busbars, and protection systems.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring schematics, and layout plans.
- Supervise installation and erection of electrical equipment including control panels, switchgear, cabling, and grounding systems.
- Ensure proper installation of protection, control, SCADA, and communication systems.
- Coordinate and manage testing & commissioning activities such as:
- Transformer IR, SFRA, ratio, and vector group testing
- CT/PT polarity, ratio, and insulation testing
- Breaker timing and functionality tests
- Relay setting, configuration, and protection scheme testing
- Liaise with utility/distribution authorities for inspections, approvals, and energization procedures.
- Prepare and maintain all technical documentation (ITPs, test reports, installation checklists, as-built drawings).
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and statutory regulations.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and early operation.
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
4 8 years of experience in substation construction and commissioning (preferably at 220 kV or above).
