CloudSEK - Software Development Engineer I - Cyber Security (1-3 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Participate in the design and development of highly scalable and efficient back-end services for our cybersecurity products, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.

- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code primarily in Python and Golang, adhering to coding standards and best practices.

- Contribute to the architecture and implementation of cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS services.

- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and contribute to the development of microservices and event-driven architectures.

- Design and optimize data storage solutions using both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases in the cloud.

- Apply your understanding of cybersecurity principles to ensure that developed services are secure by design.

- Collaborate with security engineers to implement security best practices and address potential vulnerabilities.

- Participate in security code reviews and contribute to improving the overall security posture of our products.

- Integrate security tools and libraries into the development process.

- Work extensively with AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS.

- Utilize containerization technologies like Docker for building and deploying applications.

- Participate in the orchestration and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes.

- Apply basic DevOps principles to automate and streamline development and deployment processes.

- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the developed software.

- Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback.

- Troubleshoot and debug issues in development and production environments.

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, security researchers, and other engineers.

- Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software development and cybersecurity.

- Proactively seek opportunities to learn and improve your technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Minimum 6 months of professional experience in cybersecurity product development OR a minimum of 6 months of professional experience in software engineering with demonstrable good knowledge of cybersecurity principles and concepts. This can include internships, personal projects, or contributions to open-source security projects.

- Proven ability to build highly scalable and efficient services.

- Great programming skills with strong proficiency in Python and Golang.

- Extensive experience in back-end development, with a focus on building and deploying applications on cloud platforms (preferably AWS).

- Solid understanding of modern programming technologies and approaches, including Microservices and Events, Design Patterns, and DRY principles.

- Hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases, including designing and optimizing data storage solutions in the cloud.

- Good understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.

- Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.

- Knowledge of basic DevOps principles and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and AWS services.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with specific cybersecurity domains such as threat detection, vulnerability management, data security, or identity and access management. -

- Familiarity with security testing tools and methodologies.

- Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the cybersecurity domain.

- Understanding of network protocols and security concepts.

- Experience with other programming languages relevant to cybersecurity (C/C++, Java).

- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
