Position Objective:
The Head of Shared Services will be responsible for driving the strategic unification and streamlined functioning of core support departments such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Procurement, and Legal. This role will focus on enhancing service quality, improving operational performance, and embedding a mindset of continuous improvement to elevate business efficiency and organizational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Design and implement a comprehensive shared services strategy that aligns with the companys long-term objectives.
- Oversee the seamless coordination and integration of key support functions including HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, and other administrative domains.
- Partner closely with the executive leadership team to ensure shared services are contributing effectively to organizational priorities.
Operational Excellence
- Establish robust frameworks, policies, and standardized workflows to drive consistency across shared service areas.
- Champion efficiency and service excellence by adopting best practices, leveraging technology, and utilizing data-driven insights.
- Lead ongoing process improvement efforts to streamline operations, reduce overheads, and maximize productivity.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the central liaison for all internal stakeholders regarding shared service offerings and
performance.
- Ensure evolving business needs are proactively addressed through responsive and reliable service delivery.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with third-party providers to guarantee value-driven and compliant service execution.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare and control the shared services budget, ensuring judicious allocation of resources aligned with financial targets.
- Identify and implement cost optimization strategies including automation, vendor renegotiation, and process refinement.
People Leadership
- Build and nurture a strong, capable shared services team through effective leadership and development initiatives.
- Cultivate a workplace culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Define and track performance metrics (KPIs) to ensure accountability and communicate progress to senior stakeholders.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. MBA or a relevant degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing shared services, business operations, or enabling functions, preferably in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
- Proven track record of leading organizational transformations and delivering measurable results.
- Strong experience in process re-engineering, change management, and technology implementation.
