Overview -
The Head of Finance & Commercials is responsible for leading and overseeing all
financial and commercial activities within the organization. The role includes strategic
financial planning, ensuring statutory compliance, managing commercial partnerships, financial risk management, budgeting, and financial reporting to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance & Account Management:
- Lead the finance team towards common financial objectives and ensure robust internal financial controls.
- Oversee the budgeting process, financial planning, and forecasting.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory audits and finalize books of accounts accurately.
- Present accurate financial statements and manage interactions with auditors and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory obligations, including timely submission
of returns and assessments.
- Develop and streamline cost systems, controls, and accounting processes.
- Manage overall financial functions, allocate resources effectively, and manage cash flows.
- Conduct risk management to safeguard the organization's financial stability.
- Track invoice statuses, review vendor contracts, ensure adherence to contractual terms, monitor payment clearances, and address stakeholder concerns through effective reconciliation.
2. Procurement Function:
- Define and implement procurement strategies and policies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Engage in strategic negotiations, oversee procurement contracts, and manage vendor agreements.
- Ensure effective management of procurement processes and tools to meet organizational needs.
- Monitor supplier performance, procurement costs, budgets, and regularly report to senior management.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure efficiency and reliability.
3. MIS Planning and Reporting:
- Ensure accuracy of General Ledger and associated financial schedules.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports (Balance Sheet, Incme & Expenditure, Working Capital, Invoice Status, Payment Collection) for senior management.
- Respond promptly and accurately to financial queries from leadership.
4. People Management:
- Address team grievances effectively, offer counseling, and mentor team members.
- Conduct performance appraisals aligned with the organization's performance management framework.
- Support HR in recruitment and staffing processes as required.
