Fixture Design : Create designs for body - in - white fixtures, which hold and position vehicle body components during the manufacturing process, ensuring precision and alignment. CAD Modeling : Use CATIA to develop 3D models and 2D drawings of fixtures, taking into account factors such as geometry, tolerance, and manufacturing requirements. Component Integration : Ensure that fixtures are designed to accommodate specific vehicle components and structures, allowing for secure and accurate assembly. Tolerance Analysis : Conduct tolerance stack - up analysis to verify that fixtures will meet design and assembly requirements within specified tolerances. Material Selection : Choose appropriate materials for fixtures, considering factors like strength, rigidity, durability, and cost - effectiveness. Design Validation : Collaborate with engineers and quality assurance teams to validate fixture designs through simulations and physical testing. Manufacturability : Design fixtures with manufacturing processes in mind, ensuring that they can be produced efficiently.
