Senior Solution Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (5-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Provide expert-level technical support to customers, diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure and deployment issues.

- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of Kubernetes, networking, and cloud platform-related problems.

- Lead technical onboarding sessions, workshops, and pair programming sessions to empower customers.

- Proactively identify and address potential customer challenges, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.

- Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers via Slack, email, and other communication channels.

- Architect and implement robust and scalable Kubernetes deployments for Airflow on various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

- Optimize infrastructure configurations for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

- Develop and maintain best practices for deploying and managing Airflow on Kubernetes.

- Assist customers in migrating their Airflow environments to Astronomer's platform.

- Troubleshoot complex networking issues on the fly, including routing, firewalls, and load balancing.

- Implement and maintain security best practices for Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer-specific security requirements.

- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and support teams to improve the Astronomer platform.

- Document solutions, best practices, and troubleshooting guides for internal and external use.

- Contribute to the development of training materials and knowledge base articles.

- Share your expertise and mentor junior team members.

- Utilize data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

- Continuously seek to enhance the customer experience and drive platform adoption.

- Measure and report on key performance indicators related to customer success and platform performance.

Requirements :

- Extensive (4+ years) hands-on Kubernetes experience.

- 5-8 years of industry experience.

- Strong understanding of microservices/service-oriented architecture.

- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in Linux/Unix Operating Systems.

- Strong understanding of setting up and debugging networking issues on the fly.

- Must have strong working experience and advanced understanding of at least one Cloud platform among AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

- Significant level of comfort interacting with assigned customers, over a variety of mediums (slack, email, pair programming sessions).

- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Empathetic and lean towards giving those around them the benefit of the doubt.

- Eager to help customers solve problems and succeed in making Airflow the de-facto standard in data orchestration.

- Highly data-driven and intrigued by the challenge of delivering an awesome Astronomer experience to hundreds of customers.
