Automotive Hardware Design Engineer - Component Engineering

Expertise in component engineering - strategic selection, sourcing, and management of components throughout a product's lifecycle, ensuring suitability, testability, and optimizing performance, reliability, and cost.

The main job responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Expertise in Automotive electronics component release process.
• Expertise in automotive database development aiding schematic design/development, able to work on design database, able to define and add semiconductor parameters for component parts in database, able to manage PCN/PTN/EOL notices from suppliers and update design/database.
• Expertise on component engineering from reputed tier-1 or OEM with working knowledge and ability to support on the below mentioned topics:
• BOM early assessment and analysis during design phase (A, B, C sample), with regards to suitability, release status, supplier strategy, process code, collective part numbers, etc.
• Support reliability and robustness consideration, components vs mission profile (environmental, electrical, lifetime)
• Support sourcing and awarding process (RFI, RFQ) together with purchasing (target specification, preferred supplier). Preparation, start and tracking qualification and release process, both at supplier and internally with QMS.
• Identification of new parts as well as planning and coordination and following up of technical supplier discussions (alignment for project requirements, specification topics).
• Central coordination of component related changes, incl. termination and allocation topics, Obsolescence Management.
• Support HW Engineering group during advanced design phases, system architecture definitions and ECU development / Qualifications.
• Evaluate or test the next generation modules/semiconductor part offerings from different suppliers and help recommend the best fit part for design.
• Ability to collaborate and work with global team spread across different regions and time zones.

Basic Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunication, or equivalent Engineering
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive component engineering from reputed Tier-1 or OEM, automotive embedded electronics designs or hardware/system architectural role.
• Experience in Automotive ECU design, MCU, sensors, power management, high speed interfaces, memories, data networking.
• Strong teamwork spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive area (TIER1, TIER2)
• Basic understanding of Board software/Bring up software.
• Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NAP, and Security regulations would be a plus.
