Job Description
- BigCommerce Development: Customize and enhance BigCommerce stores, including designing themes, developing custom features, and integrating third-party services.
- API Integration: Leverage the BigCommerce API to create custom integrations with external systems (ERPs, CRMs, Payment Gateways, etc.).
- Performance Optimization: Ensure the performance, speed, and scalability of eCommerce websites by identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing code.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, project managers, and QA testers to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations.
- Testing & Debugging: Write unit tests, perform code reviews, and debug issues to maintain a high level of code quality and efficiency.
- Maintenance: Manage ongoing support and maintenance of BigCommerce stores, including updates, patches, and troubleshooting.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior developers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for all code and processes for reference and onboarding.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of hands-on experience in developing and managing BigCommerce stores.
- BigCommerce API: Strong proficiency in working with BigCommerce APIs and webhooks.
- Languages: Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
- Back-End Development: Proficient in server-side languages like Node.js, PHP, or Ruby. Familiarity with databases such as MySQL.
- Frameworks & Libraries: Experience with React, Angular, or other JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
- Version Control: Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration.
- Testing: Familiarity with testing frameworks like Mocha, Jest, or Cypress.
- E-Commerce Expertise: In-depth knowledge of eCommerce best practices, including SEO optimization, user experience (UX), and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and debug technical issues effectively.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
