Executive / Sr. Executive (Safety)

Role & responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to manufacturing operations
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company policies, leveraging PDIS knowledge
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to embed safety practices into daily operations
• Plan and conduct safety training programs for employees, contract workers, and visitors to ensure awareness and adherence to safety norms
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging proactive safety reporting and employee engagement initiatives
• Maintain and update safety-related documentation including training records, incident reports, risk assessments, and safety manuals
• Stay current with EHS laws, rules, and best practices, and assist in integrating updates into existing safety systems
• Ensure timely reporting and documentation as per Factories Act and other applicable legal frameworks

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PG Diploma in Safety, Environment, or related field preferred. Must have completed PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) from a recognized institute.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in industrial safety within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of applicable safety laws, rules, and regulations (Factories Act, OSHA, etc.)
• Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
• Proficient in preparing and maintaining safety documentation and reports
• Hands-on experience in safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs
• Good understanding of fire safety, hazardous material handling, and emergency preparedness
• Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, HR, etc.)
• Preferably familiar with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and EHS management systems
