Automation Test Engineer - Java/Appium (7-9 yrs)

We seek a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer with 7-9 years of experience in Android Test Automation. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Java and Appium, with expertise in tools and frameworks that enhance automation and the overall testing cycle.

The role requires not just test automation but also a proactive approach to improving the productivity and quality of the testing lifecycle. The candidate must have strong testing fundamentals, exploratory testing skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain Android Test Automation scripts using Java and Appium.

- Implement and enhance automation frameworks, preferably BDD Frameworks like Cucumber.

- Utilize tools such as SauceLabs and Perfecto for cross-platform and cross-device testing.

- Conduct exploratory testing to identify potential issues and gaps not covered by automation.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain domain knowledge and ensure test coverage aligns with project requirements.

- Execute manual tests as required and validate automated test results.

- Coach and mentor team members on test automation setups and best practices.

- Continuously improve the overall testing process and cycle efficiency.

- Adapt to dynamic project requirements and deliver within tight timelines.

Required Skills:

- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with Appium for Android automation.

- In-depth understanding of BDD frameworks like Cucumber.

- Hands-on experience with SauceLabs and Perfecto or related Mobile Cloud environments.

- Solid understanding of core testing concepts and methodologies.

- Excellent exploratory testing skills with an eye for detail.

- Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, or Gradle for CI/CD and build management.

- Ability to analyze and debug test failures effectively.
