Senior Hardware Engineer

A Senior Hardware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and validating complex hardware systems and components.

Play a key role in overseeing the entire hardware development lifecycle, from conceptualization to manufacturing, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Critically analyze the hardware requirements and specifications.

- Analyse hardware architecture and their components and subcomponents based on electronics and embedded systems.

- Hardware design and development for system through electronic circuits including analogue, digital and mixed signal designs.

- Develop schematics, perform PCB layouts and select components to meet performance and cost requirements.

- Ensure designs meet thermal, power and signal integrity constraints.

- Conduct feasibility studies and assess the trade-offs in design decisions.

- Build and test prototypes to validate hardware functionality and performance.

- Conduct design validation and verification (DVT), including environmental, EMI/EMC, and reliability testing.

- Experiences with PCB design tools (Altium, Xpedition, Cadence, OrCAD or others) with full tool flows and version management.

- Debug and troubleshoot the EMI/EMC and electronic and electrical noise with existing hardware.

- Debug and troubleshoot the existing circuits, components and provide a solution in design.

- Debug the faults and performs faults detections and test.

- Work closely with firmware, software, mechanical, production teams to ensure seamless system integration and optimizing.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs and design reviews.

- Write test plan, validation reports, and user guides.

- Ensure designs meeting Compliance and standards such as FCC, CE and RoHS for safety, reliability and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Skills :

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

Experience :

- 610 years of experience in hardware design and development.

- Proven track record of successful hardware projects.

Technical Skills :

- Expertise in circuit design (analog and digital) and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, OrCAD).

- Experience of high-speed design, power management, and signal integrity.

- Experience with FPGA, Microcontrollers, Microprocessor, SoCs, and communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).

- Hands-on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers.

- Experience in EMI/EMC design practices and testing.

- Strong hands on with earthing and grounding at circuit, board and system level.

- Familiarity with design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) principles.
