Network Proxy DNS Specialist (5-10 yrs)

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Network Proxy DNS Specialist to serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-level DNS and proxy network technologies. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of network proxy, DNS infrastructure, and associated security systems. This role requires advanced troubleshooting, architectural design, and leadership in security technology upgrades and projects.

Key Responsibilities :

- Act as a Level 3/4 Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DNS technology and its operational management within a complex enterprise environment.

- Provide deep expertise and hands-on experience with network security technologies including firewalls (Layer 2 & 3), Internet proxies, DNS, SSL VPNs, multi-factor authentication, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).

- Implement, manage, and support complex security architectures that leverage DNS, proxy servers, SSL VPNs, and authentication mechanisms.

- Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise VPNs, web protocols, and email security solutions.

- Manage and support Zscaler cloud security services and proxy solutions to ensure secure web traffic filtering and policy enforcement.

- Extensive experience troubleshooting proxy solutions like Blue Coat and McAfee Proxy with complex traffic flows.

- Monitor and analyze network traffic using packet capturing tools and deep packet inspection techniques to diagnose and resolve network issues.

- Solid understanding of core network protocols and services such as SSL, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP/SFTP, NTP, Telnet, NFS, SSH, LDAP, and more.

- Design, implement, and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, and IPSEC VPNs to maintain robust and secure enterprise network infrastructure.

- Expertise in remote access technologies integrated with two-factor authentication systems to ensure secure connectivity for remote users.

- Good conceptual and practical knowledge of Switching and load balancer technologies, especially F5 load balancers.

- Lead and execute technology upgrade programs, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with business goals.

- Participate in and lead project reviews, status meetings, and coordinate project deliveries.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on incident management, change control, problem management, and configuration management processes.

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for network-related incidents and propose corrective actions to avoid recurrence.

- Mentor junior team members and share best practices related to DNS, proxy, and security technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in DNS management and advanced network security technologies.

- In-depth knowledge of network proxies, including Blue Coat and McAfee proxy appliances.

- Strong expertise in Zscaler cloud security platform and proxy configurations.

- Comprehensive understanding of firewall technologies at Layer 2 and Layer 3.

- Experience configuring and troubleshooting SSL VPNs, IPS, and multi-factor authentication systems.

- Strong command over routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), GRE Tunnels, and IPSEC VPNs.

- Proficient in packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump) and skilled in deep packet inspection for diagnostics.

- Familiarity with remote access solutions and two-factor authentication technologies.

- Solid understanding of load balancers, preferably F5 Big-IP.

- Experience working within ITIL-aligned environments with incident, change, and problem management.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to network issues.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage projects and guide technical teams.
