Job Title: Area Sales Manager (Dry Division)

Department: Sales
Location: Purnia, Bhagalpur or Muzaffarpur.
Reports to: DGM.

Job Purpose

To drive sales growth, manage distributor/retail networks, and ensure the effective implementation of marketing strategies for dairy products within a specific geographic area. The Area Sales Manager plays a key role in achieving revenue targets, improving market share, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Sales Management
   
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
  
• Forecast demand and plan inventory levels in coordination with supply chain teams.
  
• Drive sales of dairy products such as milk, curd, butter, cheese, flavored milk, etc.
  
2. Market Development
   
• Expand the distribution network and onboard new dealers/distributors.
  
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in retail, HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Café), and institutional channels.
  
• Monitor competitor activities and suggest counter-strategies.
  
3. Team Management
   
• Lead and motivate a team of Sales Executives and Territory Sales Officers.
  
• Train and coach team members on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  
• Conduct regular field visits to support the sales team and resolve issues.
  
4. Customer Relationship Management
   
• Maintain strong relationships with key channel partners, retailers, and stakeholders.
  
• Address customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  
5. Marketing Execution
   
• Implement promotional campaigns and in-store branding activities.
  
• Ensure visibility of products at retail points.
  
• Collect feedback on marketing initiatives and customer preferences.
  
6. Reporting and Analytics
   
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  
• Analyze area performance metrics and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Provide market intelligence and insights to senior management.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in any stream.
  
• Experience: 8-12 Years experience in FMCG or Dairy industry.
  
• Knowledge: Understanding of dairy product categories, cold chain logistics, and rural/urban distribution models.
