Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Governance Consultant to join our team in Bangalore or Chennai. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Data Governance and related domains, with hands-on experience in the Financial Services, Capital Markets, Insurance, or Wealth & Asset Management industries. This role is critical in enabling enterprise-wide governance over data assets, improving data quality, and ensuring compliance with data policies and standards. You will play a key role in helping our clients build robust data governance frameworks and support strategic data science and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and implement enterprise data governance programs and initiatives across multiple client environments.

- Establish frameworks for Data Governance, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Data Privacy, and Metadata Management.

- Work with clients to identify business requirements and translate them into technical and functional solutions for managing data assets.

- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data ownership, stewardship models, and governance policies.

- Conduct workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand current data landscape, pain points, and future goals.

- Provide subject matter expertise in Data Management practices and tools.

- Support the design and execution of Data Quality assessments, audits, and monitoring processes.

- Partner with Analytics and AI teams to ensure ethical and responsible use of data, and contribute to AI operationalization and governance.

- Define and enforce best practices for data handling, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational integrity.

- Participate in pre-sales discussions, solutioning, and client onboarding as a senior consultant.

- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 to 12 years of relevant consulting experience in Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality.

Strong understanding of foundational data concepts :

- Data Lineage

- Metadata Management

- Master Data Management (MDM)

- Data Privacy & Security Regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

Exposure to Analytics & AI concepts, including but not limited to :

- Machine Learning

- Business Intelligence

- MLOps

- AI development lifecycle

- Data & AI Ethics

Data Analysis :

- Hands-on experience in working within regulated industries, especially Financial Services, Capital Markets, Insurance, or Wealth Management.

- Experience working in multi-client consulting environments, with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage complex data governance programs end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Professional certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, or TOGAF.

- Knowledge of data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation, or Talend.

- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architecture principles.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
