Senior Backend Engineer - Legacy Applications (5-8 yrs)

Job Title : Senior Backend Engineer Python & Data Systems

Time Zone : US overlap preferred (minimum 5 hours)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 57 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing backend infrastructure, modernizing legacy systems, and optimizing data workflows. You will work on designing and maintaining robust, scalable systems with a strong focus on Python, SQL, and data processing.

Key Responsibilities :

- Refactor and improve existing legacy applications

- Develop efficient backend solutions using Python 3.x

- Write and optimize complex queries using ANSI SQL

- Work with Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and PyODBC for database and data manipulation

- Perform data validation, integration, and write automated test scripts

- Collaborate using Git, follow Agile workflows, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines

Required Skills :

- Strong backend development and database interaction skills

- Familiarity with cloud environments and DevOps practices is a plus

- Strong communication, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail
